Ok, so as soon as you start dating a guy (or even see a cute guy walking down the street for that matter) you start to notice things about him that can ultimately make or break a relationship. Sure, some of the things may seem like harsh reasons for not wanting to date a guy, especially if you don’t really know anything about him, but a deal breaker is a deal breaker.

White socks and black shoes- Ok, the only reason you should own white socks are for working out, and those should be the little ones. And the only black shoes you should own should be nice enough to wear with dress pants (maybe nice enough to wear with a super nice pair of jeans). If you are wearing black shoes (ugh, especially black tennis shoes. ewwie) with white socks that come over your ankles, sorry buddy. Game over.

Long hair - I’ll be the first to admit I love boys with shaggy hair, but as soon as that shaggy hair can be pulled back into a ponytail, we’ve got some issues.

Pizza folding - Why? I don’t know. I just can’t stand it when you fold your pizza. I would much rather you cut it with a knife and fork.

Won’t eat meat - I like to go out and have a nice steak every now and then. It’s not that I don’t like animals (love them actually) but I like to eat meat. If you won’t go out and have a steak with me, sorry buddy.

Once you’ve gotten over the first stages of the relationship and realized that Mr. Wonderful doesn’t have any of your deal breaker qualities, then you’ve got to look for deal makers - the little things that mean you can keep him around for a little while longer.

He locks the door when he leaves - It’s early in the morning and the new BF has to go to work before you do, he’s a keeper if he makes sure that the door is locked before he heads off.

He’ll watch GG with you - All girls have their favorite TV shows (mine is Gossip Girl), if you guy will get into your girly TV show with you, he def wants you to hold on to him. It takes a lot for guys to watch girl TV, if he puts forth the effort, hang on to him for at least the rest of the season.

he helps you cook - I was never meant to be a house wife (if you know me, it’s pretty obvious), so if you’ve got a guy who always want you to cook and clean and yada yada yada then he’s out. But if he’s willing to take the time to learn to cook with you and help you out, he’s a total keeper. Not only is it sweet that he’ll help you cook but it’s a fun date night idea to cook your own dinner and have a bottle (or two) of wine!

Everyone’s deal breakers and deal makers are different, you can’t help but have a few things that can make or break a relationship. Don’t change those … just change the guy to make sure he fits!
