Ok, I was reading a post on www.lemondrop.com and the whole thing just bothered me. I understand that the number on the scale shouldn’t be the most important number in your life, but along with that number and your BMI you can learn a lot about your self. With over 2/3 of American’s being overweight, I think the biggest problem with people is that they aren’t willing to realize that they’re one of the majority. When you’re a size 10 and not very tall, I find it hard to believe that you don’t think you’re overweight of obese. When your BMI is 34 that means over 1/3 of your body is fat - not muscle, not organs, FAT. Not cool. And you can’t go from normal to obese over night. Just not possible. So many people just look at themselves and see someone who is thinner than they actually are because everyone else around them looks like that, and the few that aren’t (the 1/3 of American’s who fall into the normal category) are just “skinny bitches”. A reverse anorexia thing - rather than a stick thin girl seeing someone who is fat, these are larger people seeing someone who is normal. Just because you are normal compared to everyone around you doesn’t mean that normal is good. Maybe we should all think about getting normal back to normal, not supersized.
