No matter how much you want to make a scene when you and your boyfriend fun into his ex when you go out for your birthday dinner, you just can’t.

This is one of those times that you just have to put your big girl panties on and deal with it. You knew it was bound to happen eventually, but why now??  It’s your birthday and all you wanted was a nice relaxing night date night with your boyfriend, but how can you do that when not only is his ex at the next table but she’s at that table with her 20 BFFs.  Does it really matter  if your boyfriend tries to make you feel better by telling you how beautiful you are?   Not so much tonight - but it’s probably a good thing you spent an extra half and hour  to get ready, because truth is you’re waaaay cuter than she is. So how exactly do you handle the situation and make sure that your night isn’t completely ruined?  Under no circumstances can you let her see you sweat.  It’s your night, you have to be in control. When your boyfriend gets up to go to the bathroom (which he will do as soon as you go sit down so he can call his bromance for help), don’t touch your cell phone. You want to call your BFF or your mom, but you can’t.  If you let her see you grab your phone and call your life line, she’ll know that you’re pissy about the situation.  If you care that she’s there, she’ll be the one who gets to call the shots.  When you’re sitting at the table for 3 minutes by yourself, simply sip on your wine and relax (well, try to relax).  When your BF gets back be sure to smile - lots. No matter  much you want to go and dump your wine over hear head, you can’t. Just smile, giggle, hold his hand during dinner,  be really  girly. As long as you look happy, everyone will think your happy, not to mention it will annoy the hell out of her to see you having a good time (if you don’t believe me, just catch a glimpse of that look on her face).  Chances are, either one of you is probably  going to have a pretty shitty night, so you have to make sure its her, not you.  The one who is running the situation is the one who is going to have a great night, and on your birthday, you’ve got to have a great night.
