As Thomas Jefferson said, Good wine is a necessity of life for me … well the only problem for me is that I can hardly afford good wine. When you’ve graduated from college and are still bartending, you can hardly afford rent much less a great bottle of wine very night. Unless you’ve got a Trader Joe’s near you. I didn’t discover Trader Joe’s until I moved to Charlotte a few short months ago, but I must say that it was love at first sight.

I’ve been working behind a bar since before I was able to (legally) drink alcohol. And while bartending is a great job to have, it kinda sucks when you aren’t getting tipped. Times are tough, trust me I know, but we’ve got to make money too! Here’s how it goes - if the bartender isn’t making a dime one night, they aren’t going to be happy, and if we ain’t happy, ain’t no body happy. -

so, spring will officially be here on saturday! thank goodness! i’m not sure how much longer i could take this rainy, icky winter weather. what does spring mean? besides a quick trip or 2 to the tanning bed and super cute sun dresses - drinks outside of the patio! zink american restaurant on tryon has an awesome patio that is sure to be back just about every afternoon from here on out. -

I recently started a new job, which is great (and even though my boss goes out and drinks every night after work, he doesn’t do keg stands). But there is a girl that I work with who constantly has men come up to her and ask her where they know her from. She won’t say anything to them, but after a minute they’ll find her again and say that they’ve figured it out, they know her form the Men’s Club. Then she gets embarrassed and runs away. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to work at a men’s club, you’ve just got to get used to the recognition that comes along with it.
